About the Artwork

Who is the artist?

  •
Each piece is created by Xavier Hardison, whose work explores our interactions with time by crafting historic interpretations of the natural world. We encourage you to visit our About page to learn more!

What is the story behind the piece?

  • Every work includes a written concept or description, often poetic to give viewers a window into the thoughts of the artist while making each piece. You’ll find this for each piece in our catalogue from different seasons.

What medium or materials were used?

  •
All artworks list their materials which are found by clicking on the “details” for a specific piece. These materials often include sand and acrylic paint, with occasional gold leaf accents. If you’d like more technical specifics, please feel free to reach out!

Is this an original, a limited edition, or a print?

Value & Authenticity

What determines the price of a piece?

  • Pricing reflects the time, technique, materials, and artistic value of each work, as well as the artist's career stage.

Will this artwork increase in value?

  •
While no artwork can guarantee future appreciation, all works are created with lasting value and archival optimization in mind. Serious collectors often track an artist's career and exhibitions to gauge value growth.

Do I receive a certificate of authenticity?

  • Yes! All originals come with a signed certificate of authenticity which can be found attached to the rear of the frame.

Display & Care

How should I display the work?

  •
Framed works are ready to hang, and include a sturdy, backing wire. Placement away from direct sunlight and humidity will help preserve the work. We recommend framing all wall-hanging X-Artifacts to protect the artwork and ensure its longevity!

How do I care for the artwork?

  • Keep the piece in a stable environment. Avoid extreme temperatures and moisture. Gently dust with a dry, soft cloth when visible dust appears—never use cleaning products or water.

Can I hang it myself?

  • Yes, our wall-hanging pieces are designed for easy mounting. Larger or heavier works may require professional installation—we’ll note this on the product page when relevant.
